Food or Medicine?

My aunt recently told me about an acquaintance who had been placed on a restricted diet. So she thought Goodbaker mixes might be good for him. Now, I adore my Aunt, but this annoyed me profoundly, because it represents a common but erroneous way of thinking about food choices. How to make homemade soy yogurt with less sugar

I’m frustrated with the overly-sweetened soy yogurts I find in my local grocery stores. The extreme amounts of sugar in them cancel out any health benefits, in my humble opinion. So after seeing Martha Stewart make homemade dairy yogurt on TV, I decided to make homemade soy yogurt. It’s surprisingly satisfying.

Two studies show milk is harmful

Dairy doesn’t help you lose weight after all

Finally, some real science has come forward to dispute the dairy council’s ridiculous ads that claim consuming lots of dairy products help you lose weight.

Prior to the ads, there was no study to prove their point. However there was a study that showed calcium supplementation helped with weight loss. Since there is calcium in milk, the dairy council made a giant leap, and I have no idea why the FDA didn’t try to stop them. Of course, you can get better calcium from dark leafy greens, among other things. But there’s less profit in that…
